When looking for a new place to call home, proximity to parklands is always a major consideration. In fact, The RE/MAX Spring Market Trends Report Survey recently showed that access to green space and parklands is the single most important factor for homebuyers in Canada. In this survey, homebuyers said that access to great parklands was even more important than proximity to work or schools!
There are several exciting parkland initiatives coming to The New Lawrence Heights neighbourhood that are sure to provide ample green space for local residents and visitors alike.
Four new community parks are envisioned for this neighbourhood, offering over 12-acres of new park space for The New Lawrence Heights. A central park will provide large facilities such as playgrounds, sport fields and community gathering places, while the other neighbourhood parks will feature benches, paths and beautiful landscaping, making them the perfect place to relax and play with family and friends on a beautiful summer day.
There is also a proposal to redesign Baycrest Park to serve the needs of all ages and will feature a lit ball diamond, multi-sport fields, tennis courts and a children’s playground.
There will even be a new linear park running on either side of the Allen Road. This is a one-of-a-kind park that will incorporate reclaimed trees from the redevelopment, play structures, resting areas, bike paths and pedestrian trails.
All of these new parklands will give residents of The New Lawrence Heights exciting opportunities to live and play outdoors.
