TORONTO’S NEW PLACE FOR SUSTAINABILITY

For our cities to remain healthy and vibrant places, our neighbourhoods need to become more sustainable, both in how they are designed and constructed.

In the New Lawrence Heights, a variety of low impact and sustainable design techniques will be incorporated to create a greener space for residents to enjoy. Neighbourhood features will include permeable paving (which helps reduce storm water runoff and improve water quality), green landscaped bump-outs along streets, infiltration galleries and unique pavers along the street to identify the pedestrian realm.

A large number of trees will also be planted, and these newly tree-lined streets will create an established community feel and provide a comfortable, pedestrian-scale environment.

Additional sustainability initiatives are currently being explored, and we’ll provide updates as soon as they become available.
